Tinton Falls Soccer Club

General Information

Welcome to all new and existing coaches.  This section of the site is dedicated 100% to you.  It will help you prepare for tryouts, practice/training sessions or seasons in any league.

MOSA/EDP Game Preparation

If you are preparing for a MOSA or EDP game, there are a few items that you will need to know.

  1. Confirm your game location, time and jersey color with the opposing team approximately 1 week prior to the game through GotSoccer chat feature.
  2. Confirm your game location, time and jersey color with your parents.
  3. Print your game card from your GotSoccer account.  The game card will be provided to the referee prior to the start of the game.
  4. Bring your Player Cards.
  5. Don't forget two game balls and referee fees if you are playing a home MOSA game.  Referee fees are split between the two teams in EDP.  Also, don't forget a bench, a pop-tent if it is raining, water, pinnnies, etc.

Background Checks For Tinton Falls

For those of you who are "parent managers," if you are not going to be coaching (at practices or on the players' sideline at games), then you can ignore this.  Otherwise, you will need to visit the Tinton Falls Recreation office at 556 Tinton Avenue, Tinton Falls (right across the road from MRHS) during working hours, which I believe are 9am to 5pm.  Phone number is 732-542-3400 x 253.

Check out New Jersey Youth Soccer's website. Especially the "Coaches Education" tab. It has good resources for new coaches. Here is the link... https://www.njyouthsoccer.com/Default.aspx?tabid=733258

Also, you will need to complete two courses, the Concussion, and the SafeSport test. Follow this link... https://www.njyouthsoccer.com/Default.aspx?tabid=733254, scroll down and look on the lower right side to find instructions for the Concussion and SafeSport courses. Click both links and “Get started”. Make sure you save the last page stating you completed the course.

To obtain your “F” License, visit: http://www.njyslive.com/home.php?layout=5576621

It is focused on the U6 and U8 parent/volunteer coach and is all On‐Line. The course contains topics and video clips of age-specific fun activities for the U6 and U8 soccer players.

This is an important website because it's where you communicate with opposing coaches to confirm games and change games if necessary. All communication with a coach should be done there for audit purposes and to ensure everyone is on the same page.

This is an app you get on your phone. You load your roster, schedule, as well as parents' and coaches' contact information. You use this to post your practice and game schedules. Parents can confirm if their child will be able to make the game. You can also communicate through this app when a game/practice has been canceled or moved.

2 suggested trainers:

  1. Total Soccer Fitness Training; Tom Denigris
  2. SST Soccer Specific Training; Jonathan Schmid

Contact Joe Henry @ jhenrygr8@gmail.com and he'll help walk you through the trainer process.

Coach/Parents Meeting

It's encouraged to schedule a meeting with team parents before the start of each Fall and Spring season. This helps ensure everyone is on the same page. Here is a sample copy of an agenda.
